From Doseok Surasang to Jibokjae Changgeuk: Opening in September

View original imageThe Palaces and Tombs Center of the National Heritage Administration and the National Heritage Promotion Agency will host the 'Gyeongbokgung Starlight Night Tour' from September 2 to October 24. Now in its tenth year, this evening program allows visitors to enjoy the palace’s nightscape while enjoying traditional palace cuisine and performances, guided by expert narrators.
Participants will explore the palace grounds under the guidance of a court lady. After listening to historical explanations at Gyejodang, the residence of the crown prince, they will move to Oesojubang, where they can watch a Korean traditional music performance and taste 'Doseok Surasang,' a royal table from the Joseon Dynasty. Separate meal options will be available for vegetarian participants.

After dinner, participants will move past Jagyeongjeon Hall and the Sipjangsaeng Chimney to Jibokjae, King Gojong’s library. They will watch a special changgeuk performance featuring stories of the king, and continue walking through Geoncheonggung, Hyangwonjeong Pavilion, and Chwihyanggyo Bridge to experience Gyeongbokgung Palace by night.
