Seoul Unit 3 Automatically Shuts Down During Commissioning... Investigation Underway
The Seoul Nuclear Power Headquarters of Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power has launched an investigation to determine the cause after the reactor of Seoul Unit 3, which was undergoing a trial run, automatically shut down.
According to Seoul Nuclear Power Headquarters of Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power (headed by Kim Sangwoo), the reactor of Seoul Unit 3 (with a capacity of 1.4 million kW) automatically shut down during commissioning tests at approximately 8:56 p.m. on August 11.
It has been reported that the reactor automatically shut down while Seoul Unit 3 was conducting a commissioning test that involved cutting off power transmission at 80% reactor output.
