About 80 Robots Undergo Practical Training at a Robot Training School
At a robot training school in China, artificial intelligence (AI) robots are rigorously practicing their respective fields about 200 times a day as they prepare to enter society.
According to China Central Television (CCTV) on August 11, about 80 robots at a robot training school established in a science and technology demonstration complex in Hefei, Anhui Province, are learning practical operations to work in both households and industrial settings. The facility covers the entire process from hardware manufacturing to data training and performance testing, collecting and training with dedicated data.
Robots Focusing on Household Chores
Here, robots practice household chores typically performed in ordinary homes, such as hanging laundry on a clothesline, putting laundry on or taking it off the drying rack and folding it. They also stock groceries purchased from shopping onto shelves, wash and cook vegetables, and even set prepared dishes on the dining table.
They receive intensive training to improve their fine control capabilities, particularly to avoid spilling or dropping contents during serving or handling precision parts. To become active in delivery and logistics, they undergo rigorous practice in assembling and transporting boxes as well.
More Than 200 Repetitions Daily... Applied in Training

View original imageThe robots repeat each movement at least 200 times daily. As stable data is collected through these repetitive actions, several hundred hours’ worth of robot data is generated every day, which is then utilized in further training.
Since July, a 'data property rights' registration system has been introduced to clarify the ownership and usage rights for the generated training data. Consequently, the collected data can now be officially circulated and traded through data exchanges.

Recently, China has been establishing robot schools and training centers, as well as building various data and systems to facilitate the smooth integration of AI robots into society. In one recent development, 30 robots reportedly enrolled at a robot school in Hangzhou. After enrollment, these robots undergo algorithm assessments and learn one of four majors—art, technology, sports, or healthcare—depending on the professional requirements. It is known that robots must complete the major course and obtain related certifications upon graduation in order to find employment at actual worksites.
