511 Books Recommended by Publishers for Young Readers... Most Chosen: 'Human Acts', 'The Future That Arrived First'
Korean Publishers Association and Korean Publishing Professionals Association Unveil 'Cheongchun Reading' Curation
280 Publishers Participate... Commemorating the Expansion of Cheongchun Culture and Arts Pass to Books
The Korean Publishers Association and the Korean Publishing Professionals Association have released the 'Cheongchun Reading' curation, introducing 511 books personally selected by publishing professionals for young readers.
According to the publishing industry on August 11, 2026, a total of 280 member publishers from the two organizations participated in this curation, recommending 511 titles from 403 publishing houses. The recommended book list can be found on Yes24 and SeojeomON.
Employees of each publishing company recommended one book from their own catalog that they would like to suggest to young people, as well as one book published by another publisher, along with their reasons for their choices.
Byungsam Lim, CEO of Galapagos, described 'The Boss of Chungking Mansion Knows' as "an enthralling anthropological masterpiece that presents the possibility of new coexistence," while Mihyun Cho, editor at Eulyoo Publishing, recommended Jang Kangmyung's 'The Future That Arrived First' as a book for young people facing an uncertain future.
The most frequently recommended books were 'Human Acts' by Han Kang and 'The Future That Arrived First' by Jang Kangmyung. Works by Kim Aeran, Hermann Hesse, Stefan Zweig, and others were also recommended by several publishers.
This curation was organized to commemorate the addition of the book sector to the Cheongchun Culture and Arts Pass support program. Since the program began in 2023, this is the first time its coverage, previously limited to performances, exhibitions, and films, has been expanded to include books.
