The event was attended by Lee Hyun-jae, Mayor of Hanam, Jo Chang-min, Vice Chairman of Hanam City Council, provincial and city council members, local residents, and more than 200 participants.
The center, built with a total project cost of 44.3 billion won, offers a total floor area of 8,711 square meters and consists of two basement levels and four above-ground floors. It serves as an all-in-one complex facility combining not only sports amenities but also spaces for community culture, childcare, and financial services.
The first floor features a 25-meter, five-lane swimming pool for adults, a 15-meter, two-lane pool for elementary school students, and a dedicated lane for people with disabilities. After a test operation period, the pool will officially open on September 1.
The second floor is equipped with a GX (Group Exercise) room for yoga and Zumba dance, a screen park golf facility, and a café. The center also includes an afterschool care center for elementary students as well as a public kids’ café, both of which will open next month.
On the first floor above ground, the advanced swimming facility is divided into a 25-meter, five-lane section for adults and a 15-meter, two-lane section for elementary students. Capable of accommodating up to 1,900 people per day, the swimming complex offers adult and children’s lessons, aquarobics, and open swim programs, and has a designated lane for people with disabilities to foster an inclusive environment. After an initial trial run, the pool will officially start operating from September 1.
The second floor provides a customized space promoting residents’ health and care needs. It includes a GX room hosting nine popular classes such as morning yoga and Zumba, a screen park golf facility with three tees, and a rest café area. The afterschool care center for elementary students and public kids’ café ‘Mamdaero A+ Playground’ will open in September to welcome local children.
The third floor houses a multipurpose gymnasium with four badminton courts, one basketball court, and a futsal pitch, as well as a table tennis hall with five tables. On the fourth floor, the ‘Community Life Culture Center’ features a shared lounge area and four rental rooms available for community club activities, small meetings, and cultural or art education, serving as a hub for local community interaction.

Previously, the Wirye 01 bus route connected major sites in the Wirye district, but with the opening of the new complex, an additional stop at the Wirye Complex Sports Center has been added to provide residents with safer and more convenient access to the facility.
In the coming months, the city plans to expand the number of park golf holes in the area to a total of 72, starting with an 18-hole facility at Dangjeong Neighborhood Park.
