Uljugun Disabled Dance Sports Team Sweeps Four Gold and One Silver at National Championship
Achievement at a National Event With Over 200 Participants From 10 Cities and Provinces
The Uljugun Disabled Dance Sports Team showcased their skills on the national stage, securing four gold medals and one silver medal.
The team announced on August 10 that they had competed in the "2026 Ulsan Mayor's National Disabled Dance Sports Championship" held at Onsan Culture and Sports Center on August 9, winning a total of five medals.
The event saw fierce competition among approximately 200 participants, including athletes and officials, from 10 cities and provinces across the country in various categories.
The Uljugun team demonstrated well-rounded abilities across multiple events. The duo of Lee Youngho and Jang Hyejung took first place in the Duo Standard 5 Dance Class 1, while the team of Lee Youngho and Park Yeji won gold in the Combi Latin 5 Dance Class 1.
The pair of Bae Jeongbu and Jang Hyejung topped the Combi Standard 5 Dance Class 1, and the duo of Lee Dongjin and Hwang Juhee claimed victory in the Combi Standard Slow Foxtrot Class 2, joining the gold medal tally.
Additionally, Lee Dongjin and Hwang Juhee went on to place second in the Combi Latin 5 Dance Class 2, adding a silver medal to their achievements. As a result, the Uljugun team demonstrated their competitiveness on the national stage, collecting four gold medals and one silver medal in the events they entered.
Disabled dance sports requires not only perfect synchronization with a partner to music and movement but also a strong sense of balance and expressive ability. Success across multiple events at a national competition, which demands extensive training and concentration for even a single moment's performance, is a testament to the athletes' consistent dedication.
