He highlighted that 30% of the total viewing time on Korean YouTube channels comes from overseas, and expressed his commitment to supporting Korean creators so they can exert influence in the global market and generate economic value. Vice Minister Kim responded by emphasizing that YouTube plays a significant role in enabling Korean creators to promote K-culture worldwide, and that he looks forward to continued vibrant exchanges in the future.
Both sides agreed on the need for policy initiatives that prioritize innovation and growth over regulation in order for the new media video content industry—including YouTube videos and short-form content—to achieve sustainable growth. They pledged to strengthen communication and cooperation so that the creator ecosystem becomes a key pillar of K-contents.
