Expanded Lineup Includes Immun Shot, Vitamins, and Ginger Shots
CU, the convenience store chain operated by BGF Retail, will expand its health functional food sales outlets and strengthen its related product lineup to keep pace with the health management trend.
On August 10, CU announced that it plans to add around 2,000 new stores selling health functional foods this year, and will introduce new products in collaboration with both domestic and international health supplement brands. Since it launched health functional food sales at approximately 6,000 stores in July last year, cumulative sales have surpassed 1.3 million units.
On August 18, CU will launch the "Immun Shot" from Rotbäckchen, a German health functional food brand with a 220-year history. The product is priced at 4,900 won and contains 26 functional ingredients, including vitamins, minerals, and beta-carotene. In September, CU will sequentially release "Multi Vita All-in-One Shot" (4,400 won) and "I'm Vita Mega Pack" (2,500 won) from Chong Kun Dang.
In addition to functional health foods, CU will also strengthen offerings of general health foods in standard food formats. These products can be sold without separate certification, so they are available at all CU locations nationwide.
On August 11, CU will release the "Multivitamin Lucky Energy Shot" (4,500 won) featuring Pokémon "Lucky" (Chansey). The cap is designed to double as a keyring. "Tiger Morning Ginger Shot" and "Tiger Morning Berry Shot" will also be launched, each priced at 3,900 won.
CU will conduct promotional events for the new products, including '2+1' deals and a 1,000 won discount when purchasing two or more items.
