Three Anglers Missing After Motorboat Incident off Incheon... All Rescued by Coast Guard
Three anglers who went out to sea near Incheon aboard a motorboat were rescued after being out of contact for about 11 hours.
The Incheon Coast Guard announced on August 10 that they rescued Mr. A and two others at around 6:12 a.m. near Chojido, Jawolmyeon, Ongjin-gun, Incheon.
At the time of the rescue, Mr. A and his companions were wearing life jackets and were clinging to their capsized 0.28-ton motorboat. It was reported that all of them are in stable condition with no threat to their lives.
According to the investigation, the three went fishing by motorboat on the previous day, departing from Wangsan on Yeongjongdo, Jung-gu, Incheon. Mr. A's wife called 112 at 10:30 p.m. the previous night after losing contact with her husband following their last phone call at 7:10 p.m.
Upon receiving the report, the Coast Guard set up a regional rescue headquarters and deployed patrol vessels, aircraft, and other related agency ships around Chojido and Jawoldo to search for the missing people. They eventually located Mr. A's group.
