Bomb Threat Warning Posted for Yeouido Hangang Park... Police Deploy Special Task Force
The police have launched an investigation following the appearance of an online post warning of a bomb being planted in Yeouido Hangang Park in Seoul.
According to a Yonhap News report on August 9, the Seongbuk Police Station in Seoul received a tip-off at around 2:25 a.m. that a post had been published on a broadcasting station’s tip-off platform, threatening a bombing.
The post reportedly stated, "A bomb has been planted near Yeouido Hangang Park. If 10 million won is not deposited, many people will be injured or killed."
Currently, the "2026 Hangang Festival" is being held in nine Hangang Parks including Yeouido, featuring movie screenings, music concerts, and water leisure experiences.

The police are tracking down the poster on suspicion of making a public threat, and have deployed a special task force in the Hangang Park area to check for any explosives.
