The water playgrounds at Gwanaksan Park, Sillim Valley, Nakseongdae Park, and Byeolbitnaerincheon will remain open until August 30, while those at Hapsil, Saesup, Bian, and Jungang Children's Parks will operate until August 23. During these periods, the district will conduct facility safety inspections, manage water quality, and maintain user environments. Safety personnel will be assigned at each water playground to monitor weather conditions and facility status as needed.
The district has reminded visitors to follow safety guidelines: warm up beforehand, ensure children are accompanied by a guardian, wear safety equipment such as life jackets, avoid water activities after consuming alcohol, and immediately cease activities in the event of severe weather alerts.
In response to heatwaves, the district is operating an emergency shelter at the district office building around the clock and has extended the operating hours of heat relief shelters at local community centers, senior centers, and welfare centers. The district has also strengthened support for vulnerable groups such as seniors living alone and is enhancing efforts to prevent heat-related illnesses among outdoor workers. In preparation for heavy rain and typhoons, the district is intensifying monitoring of areas vulnerable to flooding and inspecting storm drains and drainage facilities for blockages or damage.
