Seocho District to Host "Yangjaecheon Nighttime Cheoncheon Tour" Every Friday and Saturday from September to October
Ecological Tours by Electric Shuttle and Raft with Professional Guides
September Sessions: Phone Registration Opens August 10, First Come First Served
Seocho District in Seoul (District Mayor Jeon Seongsoo) will operate the nighttime ecological experience program "Yangjaecheon Nighttime Cheoncheon Tour" at Yangjaecheon every Friday and Saturday from September 4 to October 31. The program, which means "a slow-paced tour along the stream," allows participants to enjoy autumn night landscapes while experiencing nature within the city center.
Participants will ride a 14-seater electric shuttle car and tour various spots along Yangjaecheon, listening to ecological commentary from professional guides. The program offers a range of experiences encompassing water, astronomy, and nighttime scenery, such as raft riding, making and floating wish lanterns, sparkler stick fireworks, viewing messages displayed on the Media Glass, and telescope stargazing. The district will install garden lights and reed lighting, as well as other scenic lighting elements, around the raft boarding area, tour vehicles, and rafts.
The program is free and will run every Friday and Saturday from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Residents of Seocho District and employees working within the district are eligible to participate, with a maximum of 20 participants per session based on raft capacity. Applications for the September program open on August 10, and for the October program on September 10, on a first-come, first-served basis via phone (02-2155-7169) to the Seocho-gu Office's Garden Leisure Division.
According to the district, the program was first launched in 2024 and recorded full attendance for every session. This year, the district plans to conduct preemptive safety checks for nighttime operations and strengthen its safety management system.
