View original imageAccording to the Yeosu Coast Guard and other authorities on August 8, a report was received at around 9:54 a.m. that a 1-ton class passenger motorboat had overturned near Odongdo in Yeosu City.
At the time, a total of five people, including the captain, were on board the boat.
After receiving the report, the Yeosu Coast Guard dispatched patrol vessels and rescue teams to the scene and rescued four crew members. However, one of the rescued individuals, who was in cardiac arrest, was pronounced dead after being transported to the hospital. The other three rescued passengers sustained minor injuries and are currently receiving treatment at the hospital.
The Coast Guard is mobilizing all available rescue forces to search for the one crew member who is still missing, focusing operations around the accident area.

Once the search and rescue operations are completed, the Coast Guard plans to investigate the exact cause and circumstances of the accident by interviewing the passengers and other relevant individuals.
