"Take a Break from the Heat" KT Opens 410 Stores Nationwide as Heat Shelters

KT announced on August 7 that it is operating a total of 410 of its stores nationwide, including locations in Seoul, Busan, and Daejeon, as heat shelters where citizens can safely take a break during the heatwave.

Heat shelters are spaces provided for anyone to temporarily escape the heat during summer heatwaves and prevent heat-related illnesses. KT is partnering with local governments to offer accessible KT stores as shelters. At the entrance of each store, a certification plaque from the respective local government is displayed to indicate its status as a designated shelter.
