Blue House: "Supreme Court Justice Appointments Must Proceed Promptly According to Legal Procedures"
The Blue House stated, "The recommendation of Supreme Court Justices must be carried out promptly in accordance with relevant legal procedures."
Kang Yoo-jung, Chief Spokesperson for the Blue House, gave this response at a briefing on the 6th, when asked about the appointment of successors to former Supreme Court Justice Noh Tae-ak and current Supreme Court Justice Lee Heung-gu.
As there have been various interpretations regarding Supreme Court Chief Justice Cho Hui-dae's failure to recommend a successor for former Supreme Court Justice Noh Tae-ak, who retired last March, this is interpreted as an indirect call for a prompt recommendation.
However, Chief Spokesperson Kang clarified, "There have been reports that the Blue House agrees with the impeachment or possible resignation of the Supreme Court Chief Justice, but this is not true at all."
