View original imageAccording to Korea Investment & Securities on August 6, the company posted a consolidated operating profit of 2.1701 trillion won for the first half of the year, a provisional figure representing an 89.1% increase compared to the same period last year. During the same period, net profit amounted to 1.7311 trillion won, up 68.9% year-on-year.
Following its achievement last year as the first domestic securities company to record more than 2 trillion won in both annual operating profit and net profit, Korea Investment & Securities has posted results in the first half of this year that are close to last year’s total profit.
In the first half of this year, revenue sources were diversified as follows: brokerage (BK) accounted for 41.2%, wealth management (WM) for 15.8%, investment banking (IB) for 16.0%, and trading for 27.0% of total income.
By business segment, favorable stock market conditions led to a 44.2% quarter-on-quarter increase in brokerage commission income. In the wealth management segment, commission income rose by 106.8%, thanks to strong sales of financial products such as promissory notes and integrated investment accounts (IMA).
