Baek Hakseon, Chief of the West Sea Regional Coast Guard Agency, visited key sites in the Mokpo area ahead of the summer peak season and typhoon ("Heukseogi") period to inspect maritime accident prevention and response readiness, and to encourage on-site personnel.
The West Sea Regional Coast Guard Agency announced that on the 6th, Chief Baek visited both the Mokpo Regional VTS and the Bukhang Police Substation, where he inspected the operation status of vessel traffic services, coastal safety management, and rescue response systems.

He also examined the working conditions of traffic control personnel operating under extreme heat, and reviewed whether on-site heat illness prevention measures were being properly implemented.
He then visited the Bukhang Police Substation to assess the safety management of coastal hazardous areas and multi-user vessels, and inspected the readiness of rescue response and the operation status of rescue equipment in preparation for typhoons. He listened to the difficulties experienced by on-site staff and expressed his appreciation for their efforts.
This inspection was conducted ahead of the summer peak season, when maritime activities increase, and the period of frequent typhoon impact, aiming to review coastal safety management and disaster response systems, as well as to directly assess the working conditions of on-site staff in the heatwave.
