CoAsia CM Finalizes 5-to-1 Stock Consolidation...Boosts Corporate Value with AI Vision Business Expansion
CoAsia CM Co., Ltd. (196450) announced on August 6 that at the extraordinary general meeting held on the same day, the proposal to consolidate five common shares into one was approved as originally proposed. The company plans to use this stock consolidation as an opportunity to enhance shareholder value, reassess corporate value, and accelerate the expansion of future growth businesses.
Upon completion of the stock consolidation, the number of issued shares will decrease from 45,320,000 to 9,064,000, and the face value per share will change from 1,000 won to 5,000 won.
The company stated that the stock consolidation is intended to address market concerns related to its status as a low-priced stock and to create an environment where the company’s intrinsic value can be more accurately assessed. CoAsia CM Co., Ltd. aims to proactively respond to strengthened listing maintenance criteria, maintain an appropriate number of circulating shares, and thereby increase market trust and investment appeal. Through these efforts, the company expects to further expand its long-term, investor-centered shareholder base.
The trend of improved profitability is also continuing. After returning to operating profit last year, the company expects to sustain stable earnings, driven by expanded supply of optical lenses for premium smartphones, increased production efficiency, and operational stabilization.
CoAsia CM Co., Ltd. is expanding the supply of high value-added optical lenses for premium Samsung smartphones to improve profitability and business competitiveness. Simultaneously, the company is promoting mass production of 3D sensing camera modules in collaboration with Hana Optronics, a specialized Time-of-Flight (ToF) semiconductor company.
Additionally, together with its affiliate CoAsia CM Korea, CoAsia CM Co., Ltd. is developing stereo depth camera solutions for robotics, thereby expanding its business portfolio in the AI vision market and strengthening its foundation for mid- to long-term growth.
A representative from CoAsia CM Co., Ltd. stated, "This stock consolidation is not merely a face value adjustment, but a strategic decision to enhance corporate value and strengthen our shareholder-friendly policies. Based on stable profitability, we are increasing the competitiveness of our mobile optics business, while at the same time, continuing to expand future growth drivers to establish ourselves as a core company in next-generation optical markets such as robotics and physical AI."
