Cheongdo County and Yeongcheon City Mobilize All-Out Efforts to Secure Agricultural Water Resources Amid Prolonged Heatwaves and Drought
Cheongdo County and Yeongcheon City have launched thorough on-site inspections and all-out response measures to address agricultural water shortages caused by prolonged heatwaves and insufficient rainfall.
On August 5, Cheongdo-eup officials visited major reservoirs and agricultural wells within the area to conduct emergency inspections of the current reservoir levels and water supply conditions.
At the site, they listened to the difficulties faced by local residents, and are focusing administrative resources on minimizing agricultural damage by establishing practical drought countermeasures, such as utilizing nearby wells and supporting irrigation pump deployment in anticipation of potential water shortages at the reservoirs.
On the same day, Yeongcheon City officials sequentially visited Samgwi Reservoir in Omi-dong, Tobong Reservoir in Ucheon-ri, Cheongtong-myeon, and Daepyeong Reservoir in Buk-an-myeon to directly inspect the status of agricultural water supply.
