DB Hitech and MoaFab Sign Agreement to Transfer Semiconductor Equipment... Support for MEMS Process Equipment
Transfer of Three MEMS Process Equipment Units
Strengthening National Nano Fab R&D Infrastructure
DB Hitech has initiated collaboration to strengthen the semiconductor process support capabilities of the national nano fab integration platform, MoaFab.
DB Hitech announced on August 6 at its Sangwoo Campus in Eumseong, North Chungcheong Province, that it held a ceremony for the transfer of semiconductor equipment with officials from the Ministry of Science and ICT and MoaFab.
This cooperation has been arranged to enhance the competitiveness of MoaFab, which is working to link national nano fabs across various regions. Previously, in March of last year, the Ministry of Science and ICT, Samsung Electronics, SK hynix, and DB Hitech signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to strengthen MoaFab's competitiveness.

These devices will be used to improve the process support environment for R&D and prototyping at the Nano Comprehensive Technology Institute and the Nano Convergence Technology Institute, both participants in MoaFab. The company expects this contribution to help expand the infrastructure for semiconductor R&D in Korea.
The event was attended by about 30 key officials from the Ministry of Science and ICT, DB Hitech, and MoaFab. After the signing ceremony, participants held a discussion on the operation and utilization plans for MoaFab, followed by a fab tour.
