Daewoo Engineering & Construction Completes Sales of All Units at "Cheongju Prugio Cielice"
All 1,351 Units Sold Out in Record Time Following Strong Subscription Demand
Brand Power and Large-Scale Appeal Drive Success of Rare New Project After 19 Years
Daewoo Engineering & Construction recently completed all sales contracts in a short period for "Cheongju Prugio Cielice," a complex consisting of 1,351 units being built in the Bunpyeong and Mipyeong districts of Seowon-gu, Cheongju, North Chungcheong Province. The company was able to achieve the milestone of an early sellout for this large-scale project despite the sluggish local housing market, thanks to its outstanding competitiveness.
This remarkable success is mainly attributed to the rarity of launching a new apartment complex in Bunpyeong and Mipyeong-dong after about 19 years. Due to the area's high proportion of old housing, there has been a continuous real demand from local residents wishing to move into new apartments, leading to the swift completion of contracts.
Strong interest was evident even during the application phase. In priority round 1 applications held last April, the average competition rate was 6.47 to 1, with the highest reaching 17.28 to 1. Although every unit is a medium-to-large apartment with a dedicated area of at least 84 square meters, the number of subscriptions far exceeded the available supply, indicating the project's appeal even at this early stage.
The site's proximity to the living infrastructure of the existing Bunpyeong 1 District, the Prugio brand, and the massive scale of 1,351 households were also key drivers of successful contracts. Additionally, competitive edge was boosted by spacious floor plans and rare community amenities for the region, including a 25-meter indoor swimming pool and sauna.
In particular, for the Cheongju region, the strong housing demand supported by nearby industrial complexes in Osong and Ochang, as well as pent-up demand within the established urban infrastructure for new apartment complexes, appear to have directly translated into this achievement.
A Daewoo Engineering & Construction spokesperson stated, "This project drew great interest from real homebuyers as it was a new complex being offered in Bunpyeong and Mipyeong-dong after a long hiatus." They added, "Its desirable location near Bunpyeong 1 District, transportation connectivity via the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd ring roads, and distinctive design and community facilities all received high praise."
Cheongju Prugio Cielice features a south-facing arrangement for most units and generous building-to-building spacing, and is designed as a park-style complex with no vehicular traffic above ground. There will be approximately 1.7 parking spaces per household, and specialized layouts such as 4-bay flat-type units with pantries, dress rooms, and multi-purpose (alpha) rooms.
The project also boasts excellent education and living infrastructure. Namseong Elementary School, Namseong Middle School, and Chungbuk High School are all within walking distance. Major supermarkets, government offices, and parks are also nearby. The 1st, 2nd, and 3rd ring roads offer convenient access to both core Cheongju areas and the key industrial parks of Osong and Ochang.
