A new proxy issuance service will be launched, allowing parents to apply for and obtain proof of entry and exit records for their minor children online.
Until now, in order to check the entry and exit records of minor children, parents had to visit the relevant authorities in person, such as community centers or immigration offices, which was inconvenient.
This was especially burdensome for families residing abroad, as they either had to ask relatives in Korea for help or travel back to Korea themselves in order to obtain the necessary entry and exit record certificates for submission to domestic institutions.
From now on, parents will be able to conveniently receive their child's entry and exit certification from anywhere in the world through the 'Government24' portal.
For this service, verifying parental rights information is essential, so a 'parental rights information verification system' using public MyData has been introduced to ensure security. When a parent submits a family relationship certificate listing their child in order to apply for the entry and exit record certificate, the system automatically verifies the parental rights and issues the certificate if eligible.
The Ministry of the Interior and Safety stated that it plans to continue discovering and developing administrative services with high demand among minors, in cooperation with related departments.
