2026 KCIA Korea Consumer Industry Assessment ‘Accommodation’ Results Announced for Seoul, Metropolitan Cities, and Selected Regions
KCA Korea Consumer Assessment has announced the results of the regional evaluation for the <2026 KCIA Korea Consumer Industry Assessment 'Accommodation'>, hosted by the Korea Consumer Council and organized by Korea Consumer Assessment. The evaluated regions are Seoul, Sejong, Chungcheong, and the metropolitan cities (Incheon, Daejeon, Daegu, Busan, Ulsan).
This assessment aims to fulfill the eight fundamental consumer rights granted under Article 4 of the Framework Act on Consumers, such as the right to have one's opinion reflected, the right to receive information, and the right to make choices, by publishing consumer evaluation outcomes by industry type based on the Standard Industrial Classification. The assessment also seeks to provide consumers with objective and useful information, thereby promoting qualitative improvements in their daily lives.
The 2026 KCIA Korea Consumer Industry Assessment 'Accommodation' is conducted to foster the development of Korea's accommodation industry, annually selecting and introducing outstanding accommodation facilities based on evaluations from actual guests.
The assessment consists of two main areas: the hotel sector, which included hotels certified by star-rating standards of the Korea Tourism Association (KTA) and the Jeju Special Self-Governing Province Tourism Association (JTA), and the accommodation sector, which encompasses general accommodation businesses, serviced accommodations, campgrounds, and camping sites.
During the pre-evaluation held from May to June 2026, nationwide hotels and other accommodation facilities underwent preliminary screening based on review counts from portal sites and reservation platforms. Candidates ranked within the top 30.12% were shortlisted and notified, and finally, the top 0.39% of all facilities were selected as outstanding accommodations according to the following evaluation criteria.
Providing a reliable assessment index grounded in real consumer experience data is expected to present consumers with safe decision-making standards and encourage overall service quality improvement within the industry.

Korea Consumer Assessment ultimately selected the best regional and sector-based accommodation facilities according to six final evaluation criteria, all based on actual consumer experiences: △facility satisfaction △cleanliness satisfaction △staff kindness △complaint response △accessibility △overall evaluation. The announcement of the outstanding facilities in the accommodation category is as follows.
A representative from Korea Consumer Assessment stated, "Where you stay during your travels is just as important a decision as where you go. Travelers tend to consider not only the location and price but also the ambiance, environment, and personal satisfaction with their stay." The representative added, "Because it's difficult to assess a space before visiting, many consumers rely on reviews from actual guests when making a decision. Since this assessment is based on the experiences of real users, we believe it will serve as a valuable reference for travelers looking to find accommodation that matches their purpose and needs."
