Korea Chemical Industry Council Recruiting Participants for "Find the Otter Chemical Investigation Team" in Yeosu and Seosan
First-Come, First-Served for 80 Fourth and Fifth Graders in Each Region
The Korea Chemical Industry Council announced on August 6 that, in collaboration with the Korea RC Council, it will hold the "Chemical PLANET: Find the Otter Chemical Investigation Team" event for 4th and 5th grade elementary school students in Yeosu and Seosan on August 29 and September 5, respectively.
This event follows the launch of the Chemical PLANET, a joint environmental and social contribution brand in the chemical industry, as well as an on-site program held in Ulsan in May. It is sponsored by a total of 13 companies: Kumho Petrochemical, Korea Petrochemical Ind. Co., Ltd. (KPIC), Dongseo Petrochemical, DL Chemical, Lotte Chemical, SK Geocentric, Air Liquide Korea, Yeochun NCC, Kolon Industries, PolyMirae, Hanwha Solutions, Hanwha TotalEnergies, and the Korea Chemical Industry Council.
About 80 participating students from each region will become local citizen scientists, learning about otter habitats, investigating their traces, and experiencing firsthand the importance of biodiversity and ecosystem conservation. The students will participate in various activities, including: ▲Exploring regional otter maps ▲A citizen scientist personality test ▲Testing water quality with litmus paper ▲Creating terrariums.
Registration for the event will be conducted on a first-come, first-served basis for 80 students per region, by August 21 and August 28, respectively. Further details on how to apply can be found in the notices section of the Korea Chemical Industry Council website.
