‘Corporate Value Enhancement Disclosures’ Reach Total of 747 Companies… “Local Corporate Briefings Scheduled for Next Month”
Last month, six companies newly disclosed their plans to enhance corporate value, bringing the cumulative number of companies that have completed disclosure to 747.
According to the Korea Exchange on August 6, by the end of July, the total number of companies that had disclosed their corporate value enhancement plans was 348 for KOSPI-listed firms and 399 for KOSDAQ-listed firms.
The market capitalization of these disclosing companies accounted for 84.6% of the entire market, with KOSPI disclosing companies making up 88.4% of the total KOSPI market capitalization.
In particular, while the number of pre-announced disclosures had previously ranged from one to three per month, it increased to seven in July, raising expectations that corporate value enhancement plan disclosures will continue to expand in the future.
In terms of shareholder returns, mainly the financial holding companies publicly disclosed their decisions to acquire and cancel treasury shares. A total of 90 companies also decided on cash dividends amounting to approximately 7.4 trillion won.
The Value-up Index closed at 3162.13 points, representing a 75.9% increase compared to the previous year.

The Korea Exchange stated, "To support the smooth implementation of disclosures by high-dividend, low price-to-book ratio (PBR), and special listing companies, we plan to hold local corporate briefing sessions next month." The exchange further added, "We will share guidelines on drafting corporate value enhancement plans and offer disclosure support consulting, thereby fostering stronger communication between listed companies and their shareholders."
