The higher the smart blocking sensitivity, the more likely spam-suspected messages are to be blocked. KT explained that, to address blind spots in spam blocking as spammers become increasingly faster and more sophisticated, the company developed its own solution capable of detecting and blocking even new types of spam in real time.
The service was expanded to all customers, including MVNO users, starting July 29. Any KT customer can use the service free of charge. KT stated that as of August 3, monitoring focused on service stability and customer experience showed a false positive rate of just 0.003%, and there were zero voice of customer (VOC) inquiries related to the service, indicating stable quality. The total number of spam blocks increased by 3.5%.
KT will also launch a new "real-time spam block notification service" this month. Customers who use this notification service will be informed of spam blocks in real time and can quickly and easily check their blocking status.
