Record High of 6.11 Trillion Won in July
Coupang's payment volume, which had faltered at the end of last year due to the aftermath of a personal information leak incident, has recovered. The delivery platform Coupang Eats has also, for the first time, surpassed an estimated monthly payment volume of 1.1 trillion won.
According to WiseApp and Retail, an app and payment data analysis company, Coupang's estimated monthly payment volume in July amounted to 6.11 trillion won. This represents a 6% increase compared to the same month last year (5.76 trillion won) and marks the highest figure ever recorded since the survey began. The figures are based on WiseApp and Retail's sample survey of South Korean consumers' credit and debit card payment data.
Coupang's payment volume decreased for three consecutive months following the personal information leak incident at the end of November last year. The estimated payment volume, which was 5.8929 trillion won in November 2025, dropped to 5.6133 trillion won in December, 5.4646 trillion won in January 2026, and 5.1113 trillion won in February. After rebounding to 5.7136 trillion won in March, the recovery trend continued, and last month, Coupang achieved a new record high, surpassing the level seen before the incident.
Coupang Eats also continued its growth trend. Its estimated payment volume in July was 1.18 trillion won, which is a 21% increase from the same month last year (980 billion won). This also marks a record high according to the survey.
