FuriosaAI Joins 15MW AI Data Center Project in Sweden, Accelerates Expansion in Europe

Phased Deployment of 8,800 Renegade Units
On August 5, FuriosaAI announced that it will participate in a next-generation AI data center construction project in Stockholm, Sweden, in collaboration with U.S. artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure company I/ONX HPC and data center development and operation company Velox.
This project involves building a 15-megawatt (MW) scale AI data center in Stockholm. The first phase—a 2MW facility—will be operational in early next year, with an additional 8MW scheduled for completion within the year. In the long term, the facility is planned to be expanded step by step to a total capacity of 15MW.
In the first phase, FuriosaAI will supply 1,800 units of its own AI inference accelerator, Renegade (RNGD). Including subsequent expansion phases, more than 8,800 units of RNGD AI inference accelerators will be deployed in total. This marks a representative case of FuriosaAI’s AI inference infrastructure being applied in earnest to a large-scale European AI data center.
In this project, RNGD will be installed in I/ONX HPC’s high-density AI server platform, Symphony Sixty-Four, forming a heterogeneous AI computing environment alongside graphics processing units (GPUs). The system is designed so that RNGD handles large language models and agentic AI inference, while GPUs are used for model training and other calculations, optimizing both performance and power efficiency across the data center.
FuriosaAI will provide its RNGD hardware and software stack to support the establishment of a high-performance, low-latency AI inference environment. Velox will handle the development and operation of the AI data center, while I/ONX HPC provides system integration and the AI platform.
