The recruitment plan for secondary and special education (secondary) teachers will be announced on September 30. Online applications will be accepted for five days from October 12 to October 16, and the first round of exams will be held on November 28.
As the validity period for the "Korean History Proficiency Test" scores has been abolished starting from the 2024 school year, all certificates of Level 3 or higher obtained up to the 80th Korean History Proficiency Test scheduled for October 17, 2026, will be valid for the 2027 teacher recruitment exam.
The Gyeongbuk Office of Education also released an advance notice on its website on the same day regarding the fields (subjects), number of positions, and exam schedules for the 2027 public school teacher recruitment examination.
The number of positions to be filled is a total of 466, calculated by comprehensively considering the Ministry of Education’s provisional allocation for teachers, retirements due to age or honorable reasons, the number of students, and the number of classes. This represents a decrease of 91 positions compared to last year’s advance notice, which showed 557 available positions.
The breakdown of hiring by field (subject) is as follows: 192 elementary school teachers, 117 secondary school teachers, 51 kindergarten teachers, 39 special education teachers, 24 professional counseling teachers, 17 health education teachers, 16 nutrition teachers, and 10 librarian teachers.
This advance notice is intended to provide prospective applicants with preliminary information on the available positions and fields so they can better prepare. Details on the final positions, numbers to be hired, and exam specifics will be confirmed and announced in the official recruitment plan.
