Everland Unveils Raon, the First Baby Lion Born in Eight Years

Two-Month-Old Baby Lion Makes Public Debut Today
You Can Meet Raon at Everland's Ppupa Town
Healthy Growth Spurt: Now Weighs 5.5kg

Raon, a baby lion born at Everland for the first time in eight years, will be unveiled to the public for the first time starting August 5.

Samsung C&T Resort Division announced today that Raon, the baby lion born on June 5, can now be seen starting today at Everland Zoo's Ppupa Town.

Raon, the male lion born in Safari World, was raised through artificial feeding and meticulous care after his mother was unable to care for her cub immediately after birth. Zookeepers bottle-fed him day and night, carefully monitoring his health.

Thanks to such dedicated care, Raon has grown healthily, now weighing over 5.5 kilograms, and is meeting visitors for the first time about two months after his birth.

News of the first baby lion born in eight years has sparked a variety of supportive messages for Raon, appearing on various online communities and social media platforms.

In particular, it became widely talked about among fans that Yang Changseop, a pitcher for the Samsung Lions, visited Everland during his break after the All-Star Game and gave Raon his name.

At the time, Yang expressed his hope that "Raon will grow up bravely and one day become the true king of the Everland safari." He personally gifted the name "Raon," the same as the youngest character in the Samsung Lions' mascot 'Bleo Family.'

An Everland official stated, "Raon has grown up healthy thanks to the dedication and careful attention of our zookeepers, and is finally meeting visitors at Ppupa Town. We hope many will cheer on Raon as he takes his first steps into the world with curious eyes."
