Korea Investment & Securities' Retirement Pension Default Option Achieves 123.34% Cumulative 3-Year Return, Ranks First Overall
On August 4, Korea Investment & Securities announced that, according to the default option (pre-designated management) disclosure for retirement pensions in the second quarter of 2026 released by the Ministry of Employment and Labor, its "Aggressive Investment Type BF1" portfolio recorded a cumulative three-year return of 123.34%, the highest among all retirement pension providers.
This product improved its performance compared to the previous quarter's disclosed three-year cumulative return of 93.17%, retaining the number one position among all retirement pension provider portfolios. Its one-year return also reached 51.49%, significantly exceeding the average returns for aggressive investment products in each sector: securities (36.04%), banks (33.04%), and insurance (29.20%).
The overall inflow of retirement pension reserves is also accelerating. As of the first half of this year, retirement pension assets that flowed into Korea Investment & Securities totaled 5.66 trillion won, surpassing last year’s total annual inflow of 4.93 trillion won within just half a year. This figure represents 16.9% of the total net inflow of funds in the securities industry during the same period, which was 33.54 trillion won.
Korea Investment & Securities is focusing on providing a differentiated portfolio centered on performance-based products, moving away from a market trend dominated by principal-guaranteed products. As of the end of the second quarter of this year, the accumulated default option reserves at Korea Investment & Securities exceeded 600 billion won, and the number of designated subscribers surpassed 140,000. The proportion of performance-based products in the default option reserves—combining aggressive investment type (30.7%) and neutral investment type (25.4%)—reached 56.1%, indicating that the company is quickly absorbing the demand from subscribers seeking to grow their retirement assets through active management.
