Kakao Pay Launches Beta Service of AI Financial Agent "AI Coach"
Supporting Healthy Financial Habits and Asset Management
Kakao Pay announced on August 4 that it has launched the beta version of its personalized artificial intelligence (AI) financial agent, "AI Coach," which is designed to help users develop healthy financial habits and achieve their financial goals.
AI Coach is a service that analyzes a user's MyData spending records to provide tailored financial coaching for each individual. Rather than offering one-off advice or simple spending analysis, it continuously motivates users, helping them independently build better financial habits. It is also designed to allow users in their 20s and 30s, who may be new to asset management, to manage spending without pressure and pursue their financial targets with confidence.
AI Coach provides three core functions: budget-based spending management and savings challenges; spending insights based on transaction analysis; and information on government support benefits.
First, when a user sets a budget, AI Coach monitors their spending pace in real-time. If there's a risk of overspending, it proactively alerts the user by saying, "Your spending pace is too fast right now." Users can compare the coach's recommended spending pace to their own average pace to manage consumption more effectively. In addition, AI Coach analyzes spending patterns from the past three months to suggest customized savings challenges and provide category-specific savings missions and progress updates, enabling users to consistently work toward their goals.
It also offers spending insights based on transaction analysis. Beyond simply displaying payment records, AI Coach comprehensively compares and analyzes scattered transaction data to identify major spending categories and highlight subscriptions that may need review, allowing users to easily understand their spending patterns and recognize areas for improvement.
The service also informs users about practical government benefits, such as grants and subsidies. Based on individual circumstances, it verifies if there are government support funds that users can apply for at that moment. It broadly provides information about financial benefits or resources that users might otherwise overlook.
Users can select an AI Coach that matches their preferred style. For instance, they can choose between "Kkankkani," who meticulously manages spending, and "Mallangi," who offers supportive encouragement for achieving goals, thereby receiving customized financial coaching suited to their needs.
AI Coach is built as an integrated structure where multiple specialized AI agents collaborate seamlessly in different areas such as budget management, spending analysis, and information delivery. Kakao Pay plans to further develop AI Coach into a comprehensive AI financial agent for overall asset management by continually expanding its lineup of sub-agents that address the diverse financial needs of users.
