LinkAlpha Appoints Global IB Specialist John Chang as Registered Director, Accelerates Global Expansion
Series A Funding Round Raises 34 Billion Won
AI investment research platform LinkAlpha has appointed John Chang, a financial expert with a background in global investment banks, as its new registered director. This move is seen as a strategy to accelerate global business expansion following the company’s recent Series A funding round, which raised several tens of billions of won.
On August 4, a LinkAlpha representative stated, "Director Chang is a professional who has worked in the global financial markets for over 25 years." Chang previously served as Korea country head and a key executive for the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region at Barclays and Deutsche Bank. He is currently the co-founder and general partner of cross-border venture capital (VC) firm Access Ventures, where he is involved in investing in global technology companies and fostering the startup ecosystem.
The LinkAlpha official added, "Since last year, Director Chang has acted as a strategic advisor, supporting the expansion of partnerships with global financial institutions and the establishment of overseas business strategies. With his appointment to the board, the company's global growth strategy will now be pursued more actively at the board level."
This appointment follows LinkAlpha’s successful Series A fundraising, in which global financial institutions participated, raising 34 billion won (approximately 22 million US dollars). The company aims to accelerate global business expansion, with plans to broaden its AI platform business for institutional investors in North America and Asia and strengthen its strategic collaborations with international financial institutions.
Hojoon Choi, co-founder and CEO of LinkAlpha, remarked, "Director Chang is an expert with deep insight into the global financial industry and an extensive network within leading financial institutions. With him joining the board, we look forward to further expanding our cooperation with global financial organizations and seeing him play a key role in establishing LinkAlpha as a global AI investment platform."
Director Chang commented, "LinkAlpha is a company with outstanding AI technology and execution capabilities that can revolutionize investment research and due diligence work for institutional investors. As a board member, I am committed to actively supporting business growth targeting global financial institutions and overseas market expansion."
