Korean Air Wins Five Awards at "Wines on the Wing 2026"
Wine Competition Hosted by Global Traveler in the U.S.
Proving the Competitiveness of In-Flight Wines
Korean Air announced on August 4 that it won a total of five awards (one first place, two second places, and two third places) at the "Wines on the Wing 2026," hosted by the U.S. premium business travel magazine Global Traveler, held on August 1 (local time).
Celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, "Wines on the Wing" is a prestigious global competition held annually, selecting the best wine lists among upper-class in-flight wine offerings of major airlines worldwide. For this year's event, as of February, international wine experts conducted blind tastings of in-flight wines from major global airlines and selected winners in a total of 20 categories.
Korean Air secured first place in the "Top International Business Class Wines on the Wing" category, demonstrating the competitiveness of its Prestige Class in-flight wine selection. The airline received high praise from the judges for offering a well-balanced wine list featuring various countries and styles, as well as for optimizing the selection for the in-flight environment and inflight meals.
Francis X. Gallagher, publisher and CEO of Global Traveler, said, "Korean Air took first place in the 'Top International Business Class Wines on the Wing' category, proving its outstanding wine competitiveness even in the sky." He added, "This achievement is a meaningful result that highlights Korean Air's unwavering efforts to provide the best in-flight wine selection."
In addition, the airline’s first class wine list earned second place in the "Top International First Class Wines on the Wing" category. The Prestige Class white wine "Jean-Marc Brocard Chablis Premier Cru Mont de Milieu 2023" was awarded second place in the "Top White Wines International Business Class" category.
Korean Air’s first class champagne, "Krug Grande Cuvée 172nd Edition," placed third in the "Top Sparkling Wines International First Class" category, while its first class white wine, "Levantine Hill Estate Chardonnay 2020," also secured third place in the "Top White Wines International First Class" category.
