Surging Revenue Growth for Korean Legaltech Companies
AI-based legal services developed by domestic legal tech companies are experiencing significant growth, driving a structural transformation across the entire legal market. The majority of practicing attorneys in Korea are already using these AI products for tasks such as case law research and drafting documents, and there is a growing trend among law firms to implement proprietary, law-specialized AI systems.
Comprehensive legal tech startup Law&Company is leading the market by operating commercial AI services such as 'Superlawyer' for legal professionals like attorneys and law school students, and 'Bigcase,' an AI-powered integrated legal information platform. Notably, Superlawyer has secured exclusive contracts to supply legal content from Pakyoungsa and Bubmunsa—Korea’s two major legal book publishers—achieving an overwhelming advantage in legal data and delivering high performance through its advanced data utilization technology. The total number of attorneys subscribed to services including Superlawyer accounts for approximately 82% of all practicing lawyers in Korea, with annual recurring revenue for all services amounting to 24.5 billion won.
Elbox operates the AI-powered legal OS 'Elbox', a publishing brand 'Elbox Scala' responsible for legal content such as commentaries and practical handbooks, and 'Elfind', which supports legal case content and attorney search through AI self-diagnosis. As of June, Elbox had 220,000 registered members, with over 1,700 organizations—including the Supreme Prosecutors’ Office, Kim & Chang, and Samsung Electronics—actively using its services. A2D2, a legal AI startup automating attorneys’ evidence analysis and document drafting, operates the evidence analysis AI 'IREX'. Leveraging AI to analyze tens of thousands of pages of evidence material and support the preparation of legal briefs, this service converts scanned paper evidence into digital data through optical character recognition (OCR), transforms case financial data, generates case timelines, visualizes personal relationships, assesses evidence strength or weakness, and uncovers inconsistencies in statements to provide attorneys with actionable case insights. Approximately 1,600 users in around 500 law firms and corporate legal departments currently rely on the service, which has analyzed more than 1 million pages of evidence so far.

Nefla also provides a content factory service, where AI automatically converts attorneys’ documents, court decisions, and existing blog posts into professional marketing content, and a subscription service that reorganizes law firm content into legal wiki content optimized for the AI search era. By the end of this month, Nefla plans to officially launch the case management AI 'Legal Docs Wise Pro', which automatically analyzes case records without prompt input, structures key issues, evidence, and precedents, and generates drafts of litigation documents such as complaints, answers, briefs, and content-certified letters.
