HandySoft Changes Name to "Polaris AI Handy Corp." and Announces Shift to AI-Focused AX Company
Polaris AI Handy Corp. (220180) announced on August 3 that it has changed its company name from "HandySoft" to "Polaris AI Handy Corp." and will officially accelerate its transformation into an artificial intelligence (AI)-based work innovation (AX) company.
The company stated that it finalized the new name by approving an amendment to its articles of incorporation for the name change at a recent extraordinary general meeting of shareholders. This change aims to clarify its AI-focused business strategy and to reflect the group-level competitiveness of its AI technologies in the company's identity.
The new name combines “Polaris,” symbolizing the group’s AI technology capabilities, “AI,” and “Handy,” which signifies almost 30 years of accumulated groupware expertise and customer trust. Leveraging its extensive experience in groupware and building public and enterprise work systems, the company plans to integrate Polaris Group’s AI technology to further strengthen the competitiveness of its AI-based work innovation platform.
The core strategy is to combine the document AI technologies of Polaris Office with the company's own groupware capabilities. With this, the company plans to advance its services beyond traditional electronic approval and document management to a next-generation AX collaboration platform offering AI-based document creation and summarization, intelligent search, data analysis, and work automation features.
The company is also accelerating business expansion by targeting both public and private sector markets. It has established AX references in the public sector through projects such as the AI groupware business for the Korea Veterans Health and Welfare Agency and the next-generation groupware system for Korea Asset Management Corporation. In addition, utilizing its acquisition of WantedSpace as a springboard, the company is speeding up its efforts to target the B2B software-as-a-service (SaaS) market aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises.
Furthermore, through this amendment to the articles of incorporation, the company has newly added businesses related to robots and physical AI to its objectives. Going forward, it plans to expand its groupware into a work platform connecting AI, robots, and industrial-site data, enabling it to address work innovation needs in areas such as manufacturing and logistics.
A representative from Polaris AI Handy Corp. said, "This name change is a decision to more clearly demonstrate our AI-centric business strategy," adding, "By combining our groupware technology and the group’s AI capabilities, we will continuously strengthen the competitiveness of our AI-based work innovation platform in both the public and private markets."
