Samsung Life Insurance Introduces KFTC’s “Facial and Bio-Authentication” to Enhance Security and Convenience
Samsung Life Insurance announced on August 3 that it has integrated the Korea Financial Telecommunications & Clearings Institute's “facial authentication” and “bio-authentication (FaceKey)” services into its mobile operations.
This marks the first time in the insurance industry that facial and bio-authentication services have been introduced. Samsung Life Insurance explained that, by utilizing uniquely human information that cannot be replicated, the company aims to completely block unauthorized transactions by others and proactively respond to increasingly sophisticated non-face-to-face financial crimes.
The “bio-authentication (FaceKey)” service can be accessed after a one-time registration on the Samsung Life Insurance mobile website or at Customer Plaza. Once registered, users can immediately utilize it for a range of financial services, including: ▲logging in ▲confirming final insurance transactions ▲non-face-to-face real-name verification, among others.
