Small Enterprise and Market Service Introduces 'Safe Number Service' to Protect Employees
Creating a Secure Communication Environment
Between Agency Staff and Small Business Owners
The Small Enterprise and Market Service announced that starting August 3, it will begin a pilot implementation of the 'Safe Number Service' based on virtual phone numbers for employees at its 12 regional headquarters and 80 regional centers nationwide.
The Safe Number Service uses a dedicated application to automatically display a virtual number starting with '050-' instead of the employee's personal mobile phone number for both calls and text messages, thereby preventing the exposure of employees' personal information.
This service has been developed to protect the personal information of employees who frequently visit sites or provide consultations, and to create a safe and convenient consultation environment for small business owners and traditional market merchants.
Employees can use the Safe Number instead of their personal mobile phone number when conducting site visits or business trips, helping to prevent their personal information from being exposed. This also ensures that their privacy is protected after work or on holidays, allowing them to work in a more secure environment. Small business owners are expected to enjoy more convenient consultations and guidance through the Safe Number, without having to separately save or manage contact information for the agency’s staff.

The Safe Number Service will be operated on a trial basis for about five months until the end of December, and its formal adoption will be decided after a comprehensive review of the operational results, usage rates, and satisfaction levels. Intae Yeon, Chairman of the Small Enterprise and Market Service, stated, "Establishing an environment where employees who support small business owners from the closest field can focus on their work with peace of mind is the starting point for stable policy support. We will continue to expand efforts to enhance both employee protection and the convenience of small business owners."
