The company also plans to supply its products to around 400 new stores that are scheduled to open this year.
LG Electronics is not only focusing on Thailand but is also expanding its local business base in the Philippines by strengthening collaborations with major commercial laundry appliance distributors such as ‘ELS’, ‘Big Wash’, and ‘Express Clean’. Recently, in Hanoi, Vietnam, LG Electronics and local partner ‘WW Vietnam’ opened a smart laundry store named ‘Bee Laundry’, providing laundry services to general customers. At the same time, this reference store serves as a site where potential partners and investors who are considering entering the laundry business can experience LG’s products and store management solutions firsthand.

View original imageSoutheast Asia is a steadily growing market for commercial laundry appliances due to its hot and humid climate, rapid urbanization, and the increasing numbers of single-person households and rental housing. Drawing on its accumulated operational experience, LG Electronics is expanding its business across Southeast Asia, including Vietnam, Cambodia, Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia. As a result, LG’s sales of commercial laundry appliances in Southeast Asia surged by about 60% year-on-year last year. By country, sales in Thailand more than doubled, while those in the Philippines increased by more than 1.5 times.
LG Electronics is also expanding its commercial laundry appliance business in other major global markets, including Europe and North America. This month, the company launched ‘LG Professional,’ a lineup of commercial laundry appliances with capacities over 20kg, in the European market to meet the growing demand for high-capacity products. Comprising six models, including washers, dryers, and washer-dryer combos, the LG Professional lineup uses artificial intelligence (AI) to analyze the weight of laundry, automatically optimizing water usage and drying conditions. The dryers enhance energy efficiency and reduce fabric damage by applying a dual inverter heat pump with a low-temperature dehumidification system. In addition, installation is flexible for various environments, including rental commercial spaces, as it does not require separate exhaust duct installation or wall perforations.
In North America—the largest market for commercial laundry appliances—the company is expanding cooperation with major industry players. Last year, LG Electronics began supplying products to ‘CSC Serviceworks,’ the leading laundry solutions company in North America, and significantly increased supply volume this year. The company also started supplying products in 2024 to ‘Wash,’ the second-largest company in North America.
The growth of LG Electronics’ commercial laundry appliance business is underpinned by its core components technology. LG commercial washers feature differentiated core components, such as the world’s first ‘Inverter DD (Direct Drive) Motor’ to be commercialized and applied to washing machines. The Inverter DD Motor directly connects the drum and the motor, which reduces vibration and noise while increasing durability and energy efficiency. This ensures stable performance even in commercial environments where multiple customers use the machines for extended periods.
The company’s advanced management solutions that support efficient store operation are another key strength. LG Electronics offers the ‘LaundryCrew’ platform for commercial laundry store management. Store operators can use LaundryCrew to monitor and remotely control the status of multiple washers and dryers in real time. By utilizing error notifications and smart diagnosis features, they can respond promptly to equipment issues, thereby reducing management burden.
Based on its business achievements and operational experience in premium markets such as North America and Europe, as well as in Asia, LG Electronics plans to further strengthen its strategy to capture the global commercial laundry appliance market.
