Gyeonggi Province Shifts to Ongoing Recruitment for Existing Housing Lease Support Tenants
Gyeonggi Province and Gyeonggi Housing & Urban Development Corporation (GH) will begin accepting applications at any time for the 'Existing Housing Lease Support' program for low-income residents in the province starting August 4.
The Existing Housing Lease Support program allows selected beneficiaries to find a home of their choosing, after which GH signs a full-lease contract with the property owner and sublets it to the applicant. GH covers up to 95% of the lease deposit, with a ceiling of 130 million won. Beneficiaries pay an affordable rent equivalent to an annual rate of 1.2–2.2% on the supported amount and may reside stably for up to 30 years.
Eligibility is limited to members of homeless households residing in Gyeonggi Province, specifically: ▲ recipients of livelihood or medical benefits ▲ single-parent families under protection ▲ individuals aged 65 or older who are benefit recipients or belong to the next-lowest income bracket.
Applicants must visit their local administrative welfare center to apply. Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis until a 'Closure of Application Submission' is announced. Gyeonggi Province anticipates that with this ongoing application process, low-income households who have either missed the regular application period or urgently require housing support will be able to apply for the lease support program when needed.
