Clouds to Clear in Central Region, Mostly Sunny Skies Nationwide
On Sunday the 2nd, most parts of the country are expected to see generally clear skies, with heat waves and tropical nights persisting nationwide. For the time being, the highest perceived temperatures are forecast to reach around 35 degrees Celsius in most regions, resulting in extremely hot conditions. The central region will experience mostly cloudy skies which will gradually clear up from the morning, while the southern region and Jeju Island are expected to remain mostly sunny.

View original imageThe morning lows are forecast to range from 21 to 28 degrees Celsius, with daytime highs predicted to be between 33 and 39 degrees Celsius. Yangsan City in South Gyeongsang Province, which recorded the all-time highest temperature of 41.6 degrees Celsius on August 1, is expected to see daytime highs of around 41 degrees Celsius again on the 2nd. Extreme heat is anticipated, especially in the inland areas of Yeongnam.

Fine dust concentrations are expected to remain at 'good' levels nationwide, thanks to favorable atmospheric dispersion.

On the seas, waves are forecast to reach 0.5 to 1.0 meters in the coastal waters of the East Sea, 0.5 meters in the West Sea, and 0.5 to 1.0 meters in the South Sea. For offshore waters, waves are expected to be 0.5 to 1.0 meters in the West Sea, 0.5 to 1.5 meters in the South Sea, and 0.5 to 1.5 meters in the East Sea.
