Trump Targets Spanish Migrant Crisis: "If Democrats Take Power, U.S. Will Also Be Invaded"
Around 60,000 Enter Ceuta Illegally in One Day, 57 Dead
Immigration Policy Becomes Key Issue Ahead of Midterms
U.S. President Donald Trump, referring to the large-scale influx of migrants in Ceuta, Spain, on the 31st (local time), claimed that if the Democratic Party takes power, the same thing will happen in the United States.
President Trump said at a cabinet meeting held at Camp David in Maryland on this day, "I witnessed the disaster that happened yesterday in Spain," adding, "It looked like hundreds of thousands of people were invading a country."
He went on to emphasize, "If the Republican Party doesn't win, the same thing will happen to us," and added, "It will be far more serious and on a much larger scale." He also wrote on the social networking service Truth Social, "If the Democrats regain power, a situation far more serious than this will be repeated," urging support for the Republican Party.
This move is seen as President Trump, with around three months left until the November midterm elections, using the situation in Spain as an example to underscore the necessity of tough immigration policies, aiming to bring the immigration issue to the forefront of the election. Currently, the Republican Party holds the majority in both the Senate and House of Representatives, but if the Democrats regain control of even one chamber, President Trump's administration could be hampered.
Vice President JD Vance also posted a video of Ceuta on the social platform X, criticizing it as "the result of radical left-wing globalist policies that enabled mass immigration and the invasion of the West." Stephen Miller, Deputy White House Chief of Staff, likewise targeted the Democratic Party, saying, "They will be delighted to see invaders seize your homes."
