Gimhae’s 9th Mayor Transition Committee Publishes White Paper … Released Online on City Website
The transition committee for the 9th popularly elected Mayor of Gimhae, Gyeongnam, published a white paper and delivered it to Gimhae City on the 31st.
The transition committee, which assisted Youngdoo Jung in preparing for his inauguration as mayor, included in the white paper the committee’s activities conducted from June 12 to July 1, the direction of the administration for the 9th term, and recommendations for key initiatives.
During its activity period, the committee conducted a survey of approximately 300 citizens and held a “Meeting between Mayor-elect Youngdoo Jung and Citizens” at the Dongseong-dong Eoullim Center on June 25. The survey and the event identified major tasks that citizens want from the new city administration, including expansion of public transportation infrastructure, early opening of the Jangyu Passenger Terminal, enhancement of animal welfare policies, and strengthening of public healthcare.

Based on this, the committee proposed prompt advancement of the following measures: rationalizing wide-area and intra-city bus routes, early opening of the Jangyu Passenger Terminal, establishment of a shelter for stray animals, and attracting the Eastern Gyeongnam Gimhae Public Medical Center.
The committee also presented five key administrative goals and twelve major transformation projects (the “12 Gimhae Transformation Initiatives”) to achieve the administration’s vision of “A world where people live together, a thriving Gimhae for all.”
The five major goals are citizen sovereignty, local economy, future growth, practical innovation, and inclusive prosperity. The twelve transformation initiatives, including current administrative issues, citizen sovereignty, and youth future transformation, cover the implementation roadmap and priorities for 43 key pledges out of 108 total campaign pledges.
In line with Mayor Jung’s directive to operate the committee with a problem-solving approach, 122 core projects were proposed, with 29 of them identified as top priorities, and specific plans for implementation were outlined in the white paper.
The white paper can be viewed by selecting “Electronic Book” under the “Open Administration” section on the official website of Gimhae City, in the “Promotional Booklets” category.
