Samyook University and Gachon University to Hold Joint Essay Admissions Information Session
Supporting Preparation for the 2027 Rolling Admissions Process
Samyook University announced on August 1 that it will hold the "Samyook University–Gachon University Joint Essay Explanation Session" for prospective students, their parents, and academic advisors.
Samyook University and Gachon University both administer a similar type of short-answer essay test in their rolling admissions process. The essay admissions process at the two institutions closely resembles each other in terms of question format, number of questions, scoring system, test duration, and range of topics covered.
The session will take place on August 13 at 6:00 p.m. at the Mission 70th Anniversary Hall on the Samyook University campus. Admissions experts will provide an in-depth analysis of the essay-based admissions processes at both universities and present tailored preparation strategies. Following this, staff members in charge of admissions at Samyook University and Gachon University will provide detailed, practical guidance on each university’s essay selection methods from an administrative perspective.
After the main session, there will be a Q&A segment and one-on-one personalized counseling booths for each university. Participants will be able to directly address their questions about the essay admissions process through individual consultations with relevant staff from both universities.
Lee Kyuil, Dean of Admissions at Samyook University, said, "By preparing for Samyook University’s essay admissions, students will also be well equipped for short-answer essay exams at other universities. I hope this session will help prospective students resolve their concerns and uncertainties about the essay admissions process and develop a successful admission strategy."

Registration for the session will close once 500 participants have signed up on a first-come, first-served basis. Applicants can apply by scanning the QR code on the poster and submitting the Google form by 5:00 p.m. on August 12.
