Bucheon Animation Festival Calls for Short Animation Production Support Submissions
A Total of 45 Million Won in Support for Selected Works
The Bucheon International Animation Festival (BIAF) announced on July 31 that it will begin accepting applications for short animation production support projects starting from August 3.
Eligible works include original short animations with a complete story structure that are not pilots or demos. Any Korean national may apply. Applicants must submit an application form, continuity, and storyboard. The application period runs until September 22.
Selected works, chosen through preliminary and final screenings, will receive a total of 45 million won in production support grants distributed according to ranking. Once completed, the animations will have their world premiere at BIAF. Notably, director Jung Yu-mi's work "Glasses"—selected for the 8th edition of the program—was officially invited to the Critics' Week short film competition at the Cannes Film Festival last year, marking the first time a Korean animation received this honor.
