[AI Revolution](210) Logpresso Aims to Be K-AI Security Hub... AI to Assess and Respond to Threats
Interview with Yang Bongyeol, CEO of Logpresso
Building a "Security United Front" in the Korean Security Industry
"We will serve as the key force for the domestic security industry to stand up to global security companies and become the central pillar in building a sovereign full-stack AI for security."

With a string of hacking incidents and the growing adoption of generative AI highlighting the importance of cybersecurity, the domestic security industry faces two major challenges: establishing an industrial ecosystem capable of competing with global security companies and setting up a sovereign AI security system to bolster national security. Yang stated, "Logpresso aims to be at the very center of both."
Founded in 2013, Logpresso provides technology that enables fragmented security environments to be managed from a single platform. More recently, the company has focused on advancing its AI Security Operations Center (SOC) by applying agentic AI. Logpresso is currently participating in the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA)'s "Integrated Security Model Development Pilot Project," and plans to start a real-world demonstration with the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism from October. Yang explained, "Our goal is to create a system in which AI autonomously handles everything from threat detection and analysis to response and reporting, 24 hours a day."
In the first half of the year, the company officially launched "Logpresso Sona 5.0," an agentic AI-based extended detection and response (XDR) platform. Key clients include banking and insurance firms. Yang said, "We are blocking attacks from outside and detecting data leaks inside organizations. We have received evaluations at 'RSAC 2026,' a global security conference, that our solution is at a world-leading level, and we are engaged in practical business discussions in the United States, Australia, and Japan."
AI Analysts Drafting Reports: "Will Automate Forensic Work"
Yang highlighted the company's degree of "autonomy" as its standout differentiator. Logpresso's AI analysts analyze incidents in time series across 20 terabytes (TB) of daily logs, carry out so-called "hunting" to identify attack scenarios, and even draft the initial version of monitoring reports on their own.
"Much of the market’s AI security takes the 'AI assistant' approach, where a human gives commands in natural language and AI acts according to pre-written playbooks," Yang explained. "The unique advantage of Logpresso’s agentic SOC is that it allows the AI to analyze threats, decide on the response, and autonomously select and execute required security tools without any human intervention."
He also emphasized Logpresso's technical strength in 'harness engineering,' a technology designed to curb AI malfunctions caused by hallucination. To do this, Logpresso Sona 5.0 links with more than 240 security apps and over 1,000 commands across diverse security devices. Yang added, "Within one to two years, we plan to advance AI capabilities so that it can precisely track and analyze the behavior of malware and its infiltration pathways, even in highly complex work."
Collaboration in Domestic Security Industry Is Essential to Compete Globally
As an integrated security company, Logpresso also helps lead collaboration within the domestic security sector. In fact, it has partnered with 11 Korean security firms to realize the agentic SOC. Logpresso has also recently partnered with Furiosa AI to jointly develop a Korean-style agentic SOC model based on neural processing units (NPU). Yang said, "The key is organically connecting each company’s technology to construct the context of threats. We aim to reduce dependence on foreign infrastructure and form a united front that enables the domestic security industry to compete on equal footing with global Big Tech."

Logpresso’s objective is to become Korea’s leading security company capable of competing with global XDR leaders within five years. The company also plans to pursue a KOSDAQ listing by the end of next year. Yang emphasized, "With agentic AI–based autonomous security operations, we will raise the profile of the Korean security industry in the global market."
