Melcon Receives Preliminary Approval for KOSDAQ Listing
Melcon, a company specializing in semiconductor photolithography process environment control equipment, is set to accelerate its initial public offering (IPO) process.
On July 31, Melcon announced that it had received preliminary approval for its listing on the KOSDAQ market from the Korea Exchange on July 30. The lead underwriter is Daishin Securities.
Founded in 2003, Melcon develops and supplies equipment that precisely controls temperature, humidity, and the specialty gas environment inside semiconductor photolithography process equipment. Its main products include the ultra-precise temperature and humidity control system 'THC (Temperature Humidity Control System)' and the ultra-precise purification control system 'XPS (Extreme Purifier System)'. The THC and XPS are integrated with coating and developing equipment from Tokyo Electron (TEL) and exposure equipment from ASML, respectively, supporting the precision of the photolithography process.
As semiconductor processes become more miniaturized, the importance of environmental control in the photolithography process has increased. In photolithography, even minute changes in temperature and humidity can affect the viscosity and evaporation rate of the photoresist (PR), coating thickness, and chemical reaction characteristics. This can lead to pattern distortion, line width variation, and overlay errors, ultimately resulting in lower yields.
Melcon has achieved both growth in scale and profitability by securing major global semiconductor companies such as Samsung Electronics and SK hynix as its primary customers. Last year, consolidated sales reached 41.8 billion won, up 66.5% from the previous year, with operating profit at 6.2 billion won and an operating margin of 14.7%.
