Seoul Launches First Unified Recruitment for Public Institutions... 110 Positions Across 14 Agencies
Seoul City to Conduct Application Process and Written Exams Collectively
Preventing Duplicate Applications and Acceptances, Enhancing Efficiency
On July 31, the Seoul Metropolitan Government announced that it would implement a unified recruitment process for public institutions in order to expand employment opportunities in the public sector. This first unified recruitment will be carried out for a total of 110 positions across 14 public institutions under the city of Seoul.
The unified recruitment system was introduced to reduce confusion for applicants and enhance fairness in the hiring process by having Seoul City conduct application submissions and written exams collectively, rather than each institution handling them individually. In particular, the system aims to prevent duplicate applications and duplicate acceptances, as well as to reduce the cost of written tests for smaller public institutions, which the city expects will improve efficiency.
The participating public institutions are: Seoul Agro-Fisheries & Food Corporation (12 positions), Seoul Medical Center (5 positions), Seoul Institute (3 positions), Seoul Business Agency (19 positions), Sejong Center for the Performing Arts (5 positions), Seoul Foundation of Women & Family (8 positions), Seoul Welfare Foundation (4 positions), Seoul Foundation for Arts & Culture (2 positions), Seoul Lifelong Education Promotion Agency (3 positions), Seoul 50 Plus Foundation (11 positions), Seoul AI Foundation (2 positions), 120 Dasan Call Foundation (15 positions), Seoul Tourism Organization (9 positions), and Seoul Investment Promotion Agency (12 positions).
Applications will be accepted from August 13 to 20 through the Seoul public institution unified recruitment website. The written test will be held on September 19, and those who pass the written test will be announced on October 12.
Depending on the characteristics of the institution and recruitment field, the written exam will consist of either the National Competency Standards (NCS) vocational competency assessment, a subject-specific professional exam, or a basic work aptitude assessment. Subsequent processes, such as document screening, interviews, and final acceptance announcements, will be conducted by each institution in accordance with their own recruitment plans.

Applicants may only apply to one institution. Recruitment positions, qualification requirements, and written exam subjects all differ by institution. Seolhee Kim, Director General of Fiscal Planning at the Seoul Metropolitan Government, said, "Through this unified recruitment, we hope that talented individuals can fully demonstrate their abilities in diverse positions at Seoul’s public institutions."
