Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Claims Attack on US Base in Jordan, Says 3 F-35 Jets Destroyed
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) of Iran claimed to have attacked the US Al-Azraq Air Base in Jordan in retaliation for a US strike.
According to Iran’s state broadcaster IRIB and other sources, the IRGC stated on July 30 (local time), “This morning, we launched several ballistic missiles at the US F-35 fighter jet parking area and maintenance hangars within the Al-Azraq Air Base.” The IRGC further announced, “The attack completely destroyed three F-35 fighter jets and caused severe damage to three other jets.”
Earlier, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) had announced the resumption of airstrikes against Iran the previous day, marking the first such strikes in six days. The IRGC had warned of retaliation against US facilities in the Middle East.
