Police Arrest Man in His 50s for Impersonating Officer at Jamsil Baseball Stadium
A man in his 50s was arrested for impersonating a police officer at Jamsil Baseball Stadium in Songpa-gu, Seoul.
The Songpa Police Station in Seoul announced on July 30 that it had apprehended Mr. A on July 25 on charges of violating the Act on the Regulation of Police Uniforms and Equipment, and that the court issued a detention warrant for him on July 27.
According to police, Mr. A is accused of walking around the vicinity of Jamsil Baseball Stadium during a KBO game between the Doosan Bears and Samsung Lions on July 25, wearing police insignia, a police baton with lights, and a radio.
During questioning, Mr. A reportedly stated that he had always wanted to become a police officer as a child, which was why he wore the equipment.
